The Italian company which would later be Berco was born as a small bicycle workshop founded in 1918 by Vezio Bertoni, continuing the profession of his father.
Seeing the potential existing in this new repair sector, he began to repair agricultural machinery and vehicles abandoned by the US Army, growing both in size and in employees in a short time
Faced with this growth, Bertoni joined Roberto Cotti in creating the Berco brand. He began to manufacture his own parts for machinery and his own tools such as drills, presses and lathes, making the company a benchmark in the sector throughout Italy.
After years of complete inactivity due to the World War II, the company returned to the production renewing their products and updating their processes. The following decades were the ones of the international growth and expansion. In the 70’s the brand was absorbed by the Hoesch Group, and later by the current Tyssen Krupp Group, manufacturing for well-known brands such as Komatsu, John Deere, Volvo or Liebherr.
